LA DANZA ROTA | SOLO DANCE WORK | 50’
A ballet class, a workday, a spiritual dance, and a dreamt demolition.
A dancer tries to master ballet. The world is exploding, yet she seeks perfection in a discipline pure and unforgiving. She quits. A dancer starts working in an office, wearing tap shoes and typing on a keyboard. The frantic, repetitive motions make her collapse. She quits. A dancer takes refuge in faith, in the divine story. The spirit that transcends pain and flesh. She quits. A dancer is just like anyone else and dances —like grandmothers at birthdays, drunks in train stations, or children in the midst of war. The broken dance that rises from the body, knowing no dance at all —or knowing them all.

La danza rota is a dance solo created in 2024 by Ailo and Potencial de Acción.
It was selected by Fundación Cazadores in the Lado B open call and premiered there in September of the same year.
